PDK tries journalist Sulaiman Ahmad – DAKOK

The Kurdistan Democratic Party (PDK) court wants to try and sentence journalist Sulaiman Ahmad on June 30, 2024 after keeping him in prison for nearly 250 days.

According to Bashdar Hassan, one of the members of Sulaiman Ahmad’s lawyer team, Sulaiman Ahmad is scheduled to be tried on June 30,
Dakok Organization has issued a notice: On Friday 28 / 6 / 2024 in Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Glasgow will organize demonstrations against the imprisonment and trial of Sulaiman Ahmad and calls on Kurds in Britain to participate.
Journalist Sulaiman Ahmad, a reporter for the Arabic section of Rojnews Agency, was kidnapped by Kurdistan democratic Party (PDK )security forces on October 25, 2023 while returning from his father’s funeral in Afrin.
After 211 days, he was finally allowed to see a lawyer on May 25,

Sulaiman Ahmad is being tried under the same law as other journalists such as Sherwan Sherwani and Qareman Shukri.

Rojnews News Agency considers this trial unfair and calls on the PKK to release him immediately and stop restricting the freedom of journalists.

Dakok has previously organized protests in the UK to defend the case of journalists in Badinan and their trial under the 21 law of 2003 .
