On Sunday 14 / 1 / 2024, the Iraqi government decided to send 619 billion dinars to the Kurdistan Region for salaries.
The new cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) did not distribute the salaries of October, November and December 2023 due to lack of money and the lack of budget from Baghdad.
Last year, the Iraqi government sent 700 billion Iraqi dinars to the Kurdistan Region, but in 2024 the amount will be reduced to 619 billion Iraqi dinars.
Meanwhile, the spokesman of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) said that the amount of money sent by Baghdad is not enough for the salaries of the region and 800 billion is needed .
